Experts suggest that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region should intensify the management of coal-fired heating boilers.

According to reports, recently, Professor Feng Yinchang from Nankai University suggested that this year, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas should further strengthen the governance and transformation of centralized heating coal-fired boilers. It is reported that in 2016, the urban areas of Beijing basically eliminated coal-fired boilers of 10 steam tons and below, but there are still a large number of coal-fired boilers of 10 steam tons and 20 steam tons or below in operation for heating in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas. On the other hand, after a large number of migrant workers return home, the heating emissions from rural residents in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas have increased. Feng Yinchang stated that currently, under extremely unfavorable meteorological conditions, the pollutant emissions generated solely from coal heating have already exceeded the environmental capacity, which can easily trigger severe pollution events. It is understood that Feng Yinchang believes that in 2017, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas should further strengthen the governance and transformation of centralized heating coal-fired boilers to reduce emissions from this part. Accelerating the progress of clean heating projects in northern regions and intensifying the elimination and governance of small coal-fired boilers is crucial.
